The Old and Young Gods of Ethyrya
There are thirteen gods that watch over Ethyrya. Four are called the elder gods, and they personify the four elements. Nine are called the younger gods, and they represent the nine alignments.
Grandfather Sky went to Grandmother Earth, and together they gave birth to Father Sun and Mother Moon. Together Sun and Moon gave birth to the younger gods. The children of the younger gods inherited some of their qualities:
Elder Gods
Grandfather Sky is the god of the wind, steadfastness, and storms, lord of the element of air, and the patron of monks.
Grandmother Soil is the goddess of agriculture, growth, fertility, lord of the element of earth, and the patron of farmers.
Father Sun is the god of the light, daytime, and wisdom, lord of the element of fire, and patron of scholars.
Mother Moon is the goddess of darkness, nighttime, and the seas, lord of the element of water, and patron of magic-users and sailors.
Younger Gods
The Watcher is the god of death, fate, and judgment. He is the Lawful Good patron of paladins.
The Wanderer is the god of travel, crafts, and hunting. He is the Neutral Good patron of gnomes and bards.
The Queen of Cats is the goddess of luck, passion, and healing. She is the Chaotic Good patron of halflings and illusionists.
The Forest Queen is the goddess of the seasons, beasts, and nature. She is the Lawful Neutral patron of elves, druids, and rangers.
The Warlord is the god of battle, justice, and duty. He is the True Neutral patron of fighters and dwarves.
The Dancing God is the god of revelry, music, and wine. He is the Chaotic Neutral patron of thieves.
The Tyrant is the goddess of domination and consumption. She is the Lawful Evil patron of orcs.
The Lich Lord is the god of insanity and the undead. He is the Neutral Evil patron of necromancers.
The Rat God is the god of trickery and disease. He is the Chaotic Evil patron of assassins.
